Bowlers To Veterans Link has announced that technology entrepreneur Timothy J. Minard of Atlanta, Ga., has been elected to the BVL Board of Directors. Minard is the CEO of Eclipse Gaming Systems, a global provider of gaming systems and technologies, and is also the founder, chairman and CEO of Sports Challenge Network (SCN).
“Tim is an innovative business leader who brings a distinctive vision to the BVL Board,” said BVL Board Chair John LaSpina. “He has a tremendous passion for the work that BVL does, and we feel very fortunate to have him join our lineup of dedicated Board members. We look forward to doing great things together for those veterans we serve.”
Minard, who accompanied BVL Board members last year on Veteran’s Day to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, said that BVL’s mission of brightening veteran’s lives is what drew him to the organization. ““Providing recreational therapy through the great sport of bowling can do so much for our veterans in terms of their physical and mental well-being,” said Minard. “I can’t think of a better organization to be a part of.”
Minard currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame, and is a past recipient of Bowling Center Management magazine’s “Businessperson of the Year” award. He also introduced XBowling, a product of Sports Challenge Network, to the bowling industry. The XBowling app allows league bowlers to use verified league scores to compete in bowling contests for cash payouts.
An established business leader, Minard was selected as one of three Businesspersons of the Year by the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and recognized as one of the top Atlanta Technology Persons To Know. He was also named one of the top 20 technology executives in Atlanta, and top 40 executives in Milwaukee, Wis.
In addition to Minard, the BVL Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America (BPAA).
