| Captured in Jan. 1944, was a P.O.W. until May 1945. Was a tailgunner on a B-17. Flew 5 missions and was shot down on the 5th one. 18 months was a P.O.W. Went from 180 lbs. to 97 lbs. On his liberation, on returning home, went to college on GI Bill and taught Government and P.E., later elementary - retired. 6 of his crew died during war. | |||||
